ACUPUNCTURE AS A SUPERB PAIN-RELIEVER
In the July-August issue of Science Illustrated, an article The
Secret Behind Acupuncture attracted many readers' attention.
The article featured a research conducted from the Lab at the University
of Rochester on the effect of acupuncture in the increased
release of biochemical substance adenosinein the body. Their
research analysis actually showed a 24-fold increase in the cellular
concentration of adenosine! According to the researchers, adenosine
has a protective effect in the body, in that it increases blood
flow so that the surrounding tissue gets additional nutrients to help it.
Besides, adenosine can also help the boby fight inflammation,
which can be the cause of synovitis, arthritis and tennis elbow. Adenosine
also causes blood vessels to dilate, which is useful for patient
with high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat, circulation problems, ED,
and as a prevention for migraines.
As it is well known that acupuncture can produce endorphins
(morphine like substance) in the body which can naturelly help the body
control pain. The researchers in the lab have postulated that adenosine can
also create strong effect for pain relief.
All pain-killers have side effects and in fact, a third of all pain patients do not
benefit from them. Acupuncture, on the other hand, has
almost no side effects and can be, in general, used without any concerns about
risk to the patient's health. We can say that in treating
pain conditions, patients get many, many beneficial side effects for their heart,
lung, liver, kidney, prostate, energy, immune function,
joint flexibility, longevity and the list goes on and on...
